REECE Plumbing Opportunities

Martin Ross, REECE’s Human Resource Manager, is seeking to meet with metropolitan VET Co-ordinators from schools interested in accessing the School Based Traineeship places being made available by REECE in the 2009-10 period.

Background
REECE, a plumbing and specialist construction industry supplier, has over 350 branches nationwide and 20 in metropolitan and regional Western Australia. The organization has a strong career development culture supporting the growth and development of young people wishing to build a satisfying and rewarding future. Whilst a wide range of career opportunities are available within REECE (including graduate pathways) , many of the skills are prerequisites for successful careers in any industry.

A detailed description of career opportunities and the School Based Traineeships/Apprenticeships (Traineeships now referred to generically as “Australian Apprenticeships”) are contained in REECE’s website www.reece.com.au/careers

Regional Centres
School co-ordinators accessible to regional REECE branches are invited to contact the branch manager with a view to organizing School Based Traineeship/Apprenticeship placements for 2009.

Meeting Arrangements
Martin Ross and REECE’s Western Australian Regional Manager are has already visited metropolitan schools in the afternoon of Tuesday 29 July (from 12pm) and throughout Wednesday 30 July and discussed any aspects of the program as required and establish a supportive working relationship with VET co-ordinators. This entailed preliminary career development activities required by the school, for example an industry tour to assist with industry/career awareness raising for co-ordinators and/or students.

However if you or your school is still interested in working with REECE then please contact me, your Local Community Partnership by emailing: alice.williams@bridgingthegap.org.au to try to arrange a meeting with REECE.
